A new year has begun and already there are rumors again "Musical News" in all corners of the world. Here I present you now have a selection of short messages that I have in the past few days really pleased.
first Spider-Man ALIVE! How here was already reported it a few weeks to one - this time very shocking - Accident at Julie Taymor's new stage show Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark . A barrage of criticism followed, and some shows were canceled. Now it seems again to have everything put back, because in the past few days you can hear above all what the show Celebrity Actor who has not attended and has hurt again ... and the better news: Aerialist Christopher Tierney it is also better and he tells you in person in so do TV shows or news reports.
second ONCE - The Musical . Yesterday the news came: "Modern day Irish musical 'Once' will bow on Broadway in the fall of 2011." (broadway.com). About the cast of the same name on the film (2007) based musicals is not yet known. What one is already known, however, that no less than Enda Walsh for This book is Responsible. The music is from "The Swell Season Glen Hansard aka and Markéta Irglová , the then surprising with" Falling Slowly " were allowed to take a Best Song Academy Award-counter. The rest of the creative team sounds promising to: Bob Crowley ( design - including Mary Poppins, Tarzan), Steven Hoggett ( musical staging - including American Idiot), Martin Lowe ( music direction - including Mamma Mia) and directed by John Tiffany (Black Watch). A workshop presentation to the end of April to give early May ... I'm excited!
third anniversary spotlight musical. Am 13.1. is the anniversary edition of the German musical magazine "spotlight musical" in the sale. In my opinion the magazine in recent months has fallen somewhat, including the irregular appearance. I hope for many more years of musical focus and interpret the bonus CD of the 50th Issue as a good omen. For the promotion of young musical performers I'm also for the promotion of new musical material and is made here, where some results of the "read: machine" are presented on CD. A good idea.
4th CATS Tour in Vienna. The announced tour stop in Vienna adopted with the announcement of the date and place last hand and foot. 10/22/2011 to 01/15/2012 on grounds New Marx. More information on the homepage of the organizer .
5th Tom Kitt interview. A few days ago I came across this recent interview with Next To Normal-composer Tom Kitt. A very detailed and interesting interview. He speaks Others on the Next To Normal film, his composing habits, current musicals, musical composers, and so on. Predicate: Recommended! :)
6th ... And finally: A new Ask A Star with Lin-Manuel Miranda . Very funny and likeable. Also epfehlenswert!
