Falling Step .. new Ep and new media
Falling Step from Wuppertal've got a new EP entitled "Remote Controlled" at the start. After it had originally planned, using the latest media has to make an Internet telephone chat interview (woohoo) and it does not work so completely as expected, was eventually resorted to an old-fashioned telephone. There
The interview and chat madness then as an impression in the print edition JANUARY.
UtopianNow: So after we have left the chat experiment is short ... but again the band before ..
Falling Step: On vocals we have Lars on Kevin on guitar, Marc on bass and drums Cedi.
UtopianNow: How are you first come into contact with hardcore and punk?
Falling Step: we all originally come from the punk. Up to Lars, we had earlier bands in which we made this music. We also know, more or less volatile. We then all developed independently of one another in the hardcore / punk towards us because of the seriousness and honesty of the music has fascinated and have then met again last year and found that personal and and musically, but everything seems to fit well.
UtopianNow: Do you have a problem with the label "modern old school"? Adjusts to describe your music?
Falling Step: Such categories are not really so important to us. So one has indeed any
what else to do less. We hear very different things.
Lars: have recently myself, things like Amenra also very enthusiastic. Can that be times that such effects also reflected perhaps scarcely audible. It may be in any case the next record is very different sounds, or has at least new influences. We want to not self-censor in terms of our songwriting and put ourselves in a drawer. Of course, one has sometimes more and sometimes less influence. The wheel and we do not nowadays anyway reinvent.
UtopiaNow: you have a relatively early stage played very far away from your home town of Wuppertal. How did it happen where you do have a lot of venues right in the middle?
Falling Step: We have been written by Kosice if we do not play there and we just turn away (from London) asked if we can not play together some dates, the tour has just had there long. Therefore, we include shows in Czech Republic and played in Slovakia. Apart from the fun that entails we do not limit ourselves regionally.
Lars: It is interesting to get out anyway as always to play in a radius of 30 kilometers. We have as many new people from different countries met, which was really good.
UtopiaNow: So, could they make up differences between the organizers, bands and the
audience at the shows?
Falling Step: In the Czech Republic and Slovakia are very much dedicated people met for the do-it-yourself concept plays a major role. There is the motivation extremely high even what to bring to the start. The people there appreciate the music just to much. The
we noticed, for example, in Leipzig at the people of Empty Handed, which bring many things even at the start and make booking for concerts and other bands. Here in Wuppertal, it is often the case that hardly anyone organizes concerts and what is on their feet and many complain simply that nothing is going on. If we host it, for example, views nen concert in Charge club, three bands for four euros, then that makes some people too much.
UtopiaNow: but tell me something about the new EP "Remote Controlled".
Falling Step: On the new album Four new songs that have become far better than the recordings of the last slice. The Lars has never even sung before in 'ner Band. The first had to find as well, and has also increased real. Compared to the old EP has just done a lot in terms of the quality of the music.
UtopiaNow: How did you recorded the new EP and when that comes out?
Falling Step: We have the EP recorded in the rehearsal room itself and in the studio where Marc works also mixed himself. From the studio we had all the equipment. We have burned the CD itself, the design for the booklet we have made. We will also hand the EP . Packaging The board is now complete. We would also like to bring out 'ne single, but this is not the right time. We want even better quality writing songs continue to evolve and then we make it
UtopiaNow: So the it was by my side. Thank you for your time. Last words or something?
Falling Step: Thanks for the interview and says notice times when the zine comes out!
